The Asia PKI Conference is the brand new forum for the presentation, sharing and discussing about the PKI. Its offers a unique opportunity for organizations to research, gain feedback and establish collaborative relationships with an international audience of PKI and business leaders in the Asia PKI Conference.

For the Asia PKI Conference which takes place from the 9th & 10th of June in 201 at The Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The conference is organised by SecureMetric Technology Sdn Bhd

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVE:

  • Learn from PKI and Digital Security experts around the world with the latest PKI technology and industry updates.
  • Promote and accelerate PKI technology standardization and the interoperability especially within Asian countries.
  • Dedicated hand on technology workshops on specific on demand topics lead by highly qualified topic experts.
  • Establish an effective networking platform to strengthen cooperation among PKI industry across Asia and also with other continents.
  • Call for PKI industries recognize awards rate by world leading digital security auditors.

CONFERENCES

As proposed the main conduct of this event is in conference keynotes, and panel discussion. Relevant and interesting topics about PKI are to be discussed and shared among delegates and speakers.

EXHIBITION

As big part of the income of this conference comes from sponsors, sponsors are welcome to showcase their product and services to the PKI industry. Longer time of breaks are setup for networking around the exhibition area and increase the engagement between the delegates and the sponsors.

Registration of participants took place at 9.00am and the event started with the opening speech by Mr. Edward Low, the CEO of SecureMetric Technology Sdn Bhd, Malaysia who is also the organising chairman of the PKI Conference 2015. This was followed with the speech titled "Objective, milestones and progress of Asia PKI Consortium, Benefits of being part of APKIC" presented by Mr. Philip Leung of Asia PKI Consortium.

The honourable YBhg Datuk Dr Abu Bakar bin Mohamad Diah (Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia) arrived at 10.00am.

The programs that were planned for Day 1 are:

  • Keynote 1 - Role of Cyber Security Malaysia Towards Cyber Security Industry Development in Malaysia by Dr. Amiruddin Abdul Wahab, the CEO Of Cyber Security Malaysia.
  • Keynote 2 - Trusted Ecosystem as a Major Component of Smart Nation by Dato' Mohd Ali Hanafiah Mohd Yunus, Chief Officer - Content, Security and Innovation of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission.
  • Keynote 3 - Trust Framework for cross-border PKI by Mr. William Gee a Partner under the Risk Assurance Department of PriceWaterHouse Coopers, Hong Kong.
  • Keynote 4 - Introduction about Certificate Authority Browser Forum activities and objectives, Baseline requirement for the Issuance and Management of Publicly Trusted Certificates by Mr. Atsushi Inaba Representative from Certificates Authority Browser Forum, Senior Manager, CA Strategy Office, GlobalSign K.K, Japan.
  • Keynote 5 - Intra ASEAN Secure Transactions Framework by Ms. Pitinan Kooarmornpatana, Director of Information Technology, Electronic Transactions Development Agency, Thailand.

For the evening session the Conference held three discourse sessions starting with the first session titled "What should ASEAN start to work towards Cross Borders PKI Interoperability directive and the foreseen challenges." This session was moderated by Mr. Lars Bagnert, the Director of Project Management and Services of PrimeKey Solutions, Sweden.

The second discourse session deals with the question "Does a CA really need to issue Publicity - Trusted Certificates?" which was moderated by Ms. Pitinan Kooarmornpatana, Director of Information Technology, Electronic Transactions Development Agency, Thailand.

Meanwhile the third and final discourse session is titled "Current landscape of ASEAN PKI industry in the view of Governing Bodies and Certificate Authorities, what is going to be the future" This session was moderated by Mr. Lim Chin Wan, Chief Business Development Officer of SecureMetric Technology, Malaysia. In this session Digicert’s Chief Operating Officer, Tn Hj Amir Suhaimi Hassan was one of the panellist invited to share his experience and views on the topic.

The event started as early as 9.30am with the presentation of the opening key note titled “e-Commerce Development in Asia and its impact to PKI Industry” which was presented by Dr Lam-for Kwok, Hong Kong PKI Forum.

The event was then followed by the following presentations:

  • Keynote 6 - “Know about FIDO Alliance and its directive with possible impact to the PKI Industry” by Mr Mauricio Quintana Barreneche, FIDO Alliance member, Senior Business Development Manager, Feitian Technologies, China.
  • Keynote 7 - “Top Cybersecurity Trends for 2015” by Mr Ellery Wee, Associate Director of Gartner Malaysia.
  • Keynote 8 - “Do’s and Don’ts when you implement CA Infrastructure” by Mr. Lars Bagnert, Director of Project Management and Services of PrimeKey Solutions, Sweden.
  • Keynote 9 - “Driving Regional Business Efficiency by Implementing Cross-Border Digital Signatures” by Mr. Liaquat Khan & Mr. Rod Crook, Technical Director & Solution Director of Ascertia LTD, United Kingdom.
  • Keynote 10 - “PKI: Is this the Silver Bullet to Security” by Mr. Krishna Rajagopal & Mr. Anders Tornqvist, CEO, Akati Consulting Group & CEO, Comfact AB, Sweden.

For the evening session, four workshops were conducted by the organiser to the PKI Forum participants. The workshops are:

  • Workshop 1 – “Work towards Cross-Border Mutual Recognition Aspects”
  • Workshop 2 - “Developing Digital Signature Frameworks that can Preserve Documents and Data into the Future”
  • Workshop 3 - “How to be compliant to FIDO standards and industry adoption direction?”
  • Workshop 4 - “Understanding Guidelines of getting WebTrust certification”.

The event for Day 2 is scheduled to end at 4.00pm and the closing ceremony for the PKI Forum 2015 will be held during the GALA Dinner which will be concluded by YBhg Dato Jailani Bin Johari (Deputy Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Malaysia). During this ceremony Malaysian Certification Authorities (CA) will be awarded Recognition Awards for their achievement in supporting the industry.
